Yes, Charred Larch is well-suited for a range of applications including facades, terraces, fencing, and interior cladding. Thanks to its strength and resistance to weathering, it performs exceptionally well outdoors while also adding a bold, natural aesthetic indoors.

Charring stabilizes many of larch’s natural characteristics. While the density and grain structure remain intact, the process slightly reduces resin presence on the surface. Larch’s natural tendency to warp may still occur, especially in areas with high moisture variation, which is why proper installation and fastening are important.

Over time, the wood color changes due to exposure to UV rays, moisture, and weather conditions. Regular maintenance and oiling help retain the color and appearance for a long time. Each case should be evaluated individually, as durability depends on many different factors.

When properly installed and maintained, Charred Larch can last several decades. Its durability is enhanced by the charring process, which adds an additional protective layer. Regular oiling and maintenance help preserve its appearance and structural integrity over time.

For Charred Larch, we recommend using only stainless steel screws because this wood contains a high amount of tannins (especially Siberian or European larch), which can chemically react with regular or galvanized steel fasteners. Using stainless steel ensures the fastening remains stable over time. As larch is naturally prone to warping and twisting – particularly with weather changes – proper fastening is essential. Use a soft cloth or brush with water. If you decide to use a high-pressure washer, be extremely careful not to damage the oil on the wood. We recommend testing in a less visible area. Also, do not use strong chemical cleaners. If necessary, you can use special, eco-friendly cleaning products made for wood.

For Charred Larch, we recommend using oil from the same manufacturer that was used during production. If this is not available, choose a water-based, penetrating oil or impregnator that does not form a surface film.

Yes. When installed vertically, water drains more easily, reducing the risk of moisture accumulation. Horizontally installed boards are more exposed to weather conditions – in such cases, more frequent maintenance is needed.
