“Lake Villas”: Spruce facade boards in "Amber" and "Dark Black"
About the project
Set beside the trees near Buivydiškės pond, “Lake Villas” uses a repeated gable silhouette to create a calm, rhythmic streetscape. The façades alternate between warm “Amber” and deep “Dark Black” charred timber, paired with dark standing-seam roofs and generous glazing that pulls daylight and views into compact interiors.
Across the development, multiple charred wood finishes appear – Degmeda boards were selected among other solutions to deliver consistent tone and longevity. This approach allows different facade treatments to sit together without visual imbalance.

Boards used in the project
"Amber" Spruce
Chosen to introduce warmth without losing the discipline of a minimalist architectural approach, “Amber” keeps the façade clearly legible from a distance while retaining a tangible sense of the wood surface up close. Used alongside “Dark Black”, it creates a clear tonal contrast that helps individual houses remain visually distinct, avoiding a uniform or monotonous façade appearance.
"Dark Black" Spruce
Used to sharpen gable outlines and visually calm large wall surfaces, “Dark Black” helps reduce the perceived visual weight of the buildings. The dark tone allows the houses to sit more quietly within their surroundings, maintaining a clear architectural composition without a decorative emphasis.
