Duplex House: Chevron Spruce Facade Boards in "Light Grey"

About the project

This contemporary duplex in Kaunas sits in a quiet neighbourhood. A sharp pitched-roof silhouette is finished with a dark, curved standing seam metal roof. Degmeda “Light Grey” spruce facade boards define the primary elevations in a chevron pattern, while dark metal trims frame openings and corners.

The chevron layout is the main facade gesture – it adds direction and surface rhythm without expanding the material palette. Set against the dark roof and metal detailing, the light grey spruce keeps the building’s volume calm and visually consistent.

Boards Used in the Project

"Light" Grey Spruce

The “Light Grey” finish was selected for its tonal uniformity, ensuring the chevron pattern remains legible against the dark roofing and trims. This Shou Sugi Ban (Yakisugi) selection offers a refined aesthetic balance for this modern residential architecture.
