Villa in Spain: Charred Larch Exterior Cladding

About the project

Architect: Ricard Turon
Builder: Genial Houses
Photography: Marc Torra

Set against the rugged Spanish landscape, this modern villa delivers a bold architectural presence defined by clean geometry and material restraint. Degmeda’s “Dark Black” charred larch cladding was instrumental in realizing the design vision – its deep, uniform finish reinforcing the villa’s sculptural clarity.

The façade creates an elegant interplay between the opaque charred surfaces and expansive glass, balancing solidity with openness. Combined with raw stone foundations, the cladding provides visual weight and a refined tactility, resulting in a harmonious composition grounded in both modern expression and material authenticity.

Boards Used in the Project

Degmeda "Dark Black" Larch

For the façade of this modern villa in Spain, Degmeda’s “Dark Black” larch boards were chosen to provide a sense of solidity and visual depth.

The dark, even surface not only protects the wood from harsh weather conditions but also harmonizes beautifully with the stone detailing and natural surroundings.
