Certified B-s1, d0 products to EN 13501-1
Timber is combustible, and charring on its own does not give a facade a fire classification. Where a project needs one, Degmeda supplies two products classified B-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1 under EN 14915.
What is certified
The two certified products are Deep Char spruce and Deep Char larch. Both are unbrushed, both use a shiplap profile, and both are impregnated with a fire retardant.
- Spruce, 18 mm, fitted vertically.
- Larch, 20 mm, fitted horizontally or vertically.
The certificate records that both are classified with or without a ventilated cavity behind the boards.
In the classification, B describes the reaction to fire, s1 is the lowest of the three smoke classes, and d0 means no flaming droplets or particles occurred during the test. What the certificate records
The certificate lists the species, the thickness, the profile, the treatment, the orientation and the substrate class. It is held under certificate 2358-CPR-0267, Appendix A issue 5, dated 27 May 2025, issued by BM Certification.
Products supplied without the fire-retardant treatment are not classified B-s1, d0, whatever the species or profile. That includes the standard surface styles we supply for projects with no fire requirement. How the boards are made is covered on the manufacturing page.
