Yes, our Charred Thermo Pine boards with a brushed finish are an excellent choice for decking. The thermal modification process provides the necessary durability and stability for horizontal applications, and the brushing creates a smooth, durable surface suitable for foot traffic.

Our “Deep Char” finish, with its heavily textured surface, is designed for vertical applications like facades. While it can be used for fencing, we advise caution in areas with high foot traffic, as the delicate char layer can be damaged by casual contact. For this reason, it is not suitable for walking surfaces.

Charred Thermo Pine is low-maintenance. “Deep Char” finishes need very little care, while brushed or lighter finishes may benefit from re-oiling every few years to maintain their tone.
