Degmeda “Natural” Thermo Pinus Radiata
Natural and untreated, Degmeda “Natural” is an unoiled finish that highlights the surface character created by our Shou Sugi Ban process on thermally modified Pinus Radiata. Through controlled charring and deep brushing, darker char settles into the recessed grain while lighter tones remain on the raised pattern, creating a pronounced texture and clear tonal contrast. Natural variation – including knots and darker streaks – makes each board visually distinct.
The thermally modified Pinus Radiata core provides exceptional dimensional stability and weather resistance, giving this unoiled finish a durable base for exterior use. It maintains its structural integrity and surface definition whether left to weather naturally toward a silver-grey tone or treated with oil to deepen the colour.
“Natural” Thermo Pinus Radiata suits projects that want a clearly textured, untreated surface. Architects and builders can let each board weather naturally over time or apply oil after installation to adjust the tone – creating a versatile, durable option for facade cladding and interior walls.
